Bitcoin DeFi Project BOB, LayerZero Enable BTC Transfers Across 11 Major Blockchains

The decentralized finance protocol BOB has launched a system allowing users to transfer Bitcoin into decentralized applications with a single click. This system, called BOB Gateway, connects native Bitcoin to LayerZero’s wrapped Bitcoin (wBTC.OFT), extending to 11 blockchains, including Ethereum and Avalanche. This integration enables nearly 15,000 decentralized apps to support direct Bitcoin deposits, simplifying the complex bridging processes that previously hindered seamless access to Bitcoin in DeFi applications. With over $2.3 billion worth of wBTC.OFT already transferred across LayerZero, the new gateway is expected to boost liquidity in DeFi markets by facilitating direct inflows from native BTC. Alexei Zamyatin, co-founder of BOB, emphasized that this update makes wBTC.OFT instantly accessible across supported chains, contributing significantly to the liquidity, security, and market maturity of the DeFi sector.
