Bitdeer's New Bitcoin Mining Facility in Ohio Caught on Fire
A fire affected two buildings belonging to Bitdeer in Massillon, Ohio on November 11, 2025. The local fire department extinguished the blaze quickly, with no reported injuries. The facility, still under construction, had not yet installed mining equipment, and Bitdeer stated that the fire would not impact its operational hashrate. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Following the incident, Bitdeer's stock saw a sharp decline, dropping over 31% in five days, exacerbated by the firm reporting a substantial net loss of $266.7 million for the third quarter earlier that week. The company, headquartered in Singapore, has multiple mining locations in Ohio, Texas, and Norway.
