Bitdeer's New Bitcoin Mining Facility in Ohio Caught on Fire
A fire affected two buildings at Bitdeer’s Bitcoin mining site in Massillon, Ohio, on November 11. Nobody was injured, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The facility, still under construction, has not yet installed any mining equipment, and the company expects no impact on its operational hashrate. Bitdeer, which has several sites in Ohio and operates globally, reported that the fire was quickly extinguished. Following the incident, Bitdeer’s stock fell significantly, marking a 31% decline over the past week. Earlier, the company reported a $266.7 million loss for the third quarter, contributing to stock fluctuations. Despite setbacks, Bitdeer is focused on expanding its operations and adapting to rising demand for computing power.
