Chainlink, Apex Group Test Onchain Stablecoin Compliance With Bermuda Regulator
Chainlink and Apex Group have successfully piloted a blockchain system in partnership with Bermuda's financial regulator to enforce stablecoin rules on-chain. This system, incorporating Chainlink's Proof of Reserve and Automated Compliance Engine, aims to provide regulators with real-time insights into the backing and circulation of stablecoins, automating compliance checks. The pilot project, part of Bermuda’s Innovation Hub, featured a range of blockchain tools designed to enhance oversight of stablecoin operations. Apex Group contributed data on custody and reserves, while Chainlink's technology embedded Bermuda-specific policy requirements into stablecoin functionality. Hacken provided real-time monitoring for compliance risks, and Bluprynt's identity layer connected verified issuers to minting wallets, ensuring real-world accountability. This initiative is part of Chainlink's broader strategy to promote institutional adoption of tokenized assets, leveraging their Runtime Environment already utilized by major banks like JPMorgan and UBS.
