Citi Sees Bitcoin Hitting $181K in 2026 as ETF Flows Drive Crypto Higher
Citi projects Bitcoin could reach $133,000 by the end of 2025, later setting a target of $181,000 for the next year, primarily driven by sustained ETF inflows and institutional demand. The bank has slightly adjusted its previous forecast for Bitcoin down from $135,000. Additionally, Citi expects Ether to reach $4,500 by year-end 2025 and $5,400 by October 2026. The report noted that Bitcoin's position as 'digital gold' makes it more attractive for new investments while Ether's potential benefits from yields associated with staking and decentralized finance (DeFi) are highlighted. However, macroeconomic factors such as recession risks could adversely impact these predictions. The analysis reflects a positive outlook for both cryptocurrencies entering 2025, anticipating significant momentum supported by favorable regulatory conditions in the U.S. and increasing user engagement. Citi's forecasts represent a mix of bullish and bearish scenarios depending on market conditions.
