Coinbase Developing Kalshi Powered Prediction Market

Coinbase is reportedly developing a prediction markets website, as discovered by tech researcher Jane Manchun Wong. Wong shared screenshots indicating that the platform will be backed by Kalshi, a prediction market provider. The prediction market, associated with Coinbase Financial Markets, will presumably enable users to bet on various events across economics, sports, science, politics, and technology using USDC or US dollars. This move aligns with Coinbase's ambition to create an 'everything exchange' and follows recent partnerships to custody USDC-based contracts with Kalshi. Wong has previously uncovered unreleased features from major tech platforms through source code analysis. In recent months, prediction markets have gained traction in the crypto space, with platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket seeing increased activity. Rivals such as Crypto.com and Gemini are also launching similar platforms as interest in prediction markets continues to rise.
