DePIN Grass raises $10M from Polychain, Tribe Capital

Grass, a decentralized AI project on Solana, has raised $10 million in a bridge round to expand its technology that allows individuals to sell access to idle internet bandwidth. This initiative aims to empower users by allowing them to retain control over their data instead of letting large corporations profit from it. Polychain and Tribe Capital participated in this token purchase round. Andrej Radonjic from Grass explained that the technology provides companies with unprecedented data access. Traditional AI training methods often involve scraping from sources like Google, but Grass provides a workaround that circumvents obstacles related to internet-wide web crawls. Although Grass was not actively seeking funding at the moment, the timing was ideal due to increased demand for training data from AI companies, particularly those developing video and text-to-speech models.
