Emory University Doubles Down on Bitcoin With $52M Grayscale BTC ETF Stake

Emory University has significantly increased its investment in Bitcoin, more than doubling its holdings in the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust during the third quarter. As of September 30, the university reported over 1 million shares of the Trust, valued at approximately $52 million. This is a considerable increase from the nearly 500,000 shares held at the end of the second quarter. Additionally, Emory added a new position in BlackRock's iShares Gold Trust with a stake worth around $79 million. Their smaller position in a BlackRock bitcoin ETF remained stable, worth about $290,000, while the endowment's stake in Coinbase has also seen a modest increase. This shift by Emory University reflects a growing interest among institutional investors in regulated Bitcoin ETFs, marking a change in investment strategies traditionally focused on conservative assets.
