Ethereum Developers Lock In Fusaka Upgrade for Dec. 3 With PeerDAS Rollout
Ethereum developers have officially locked in the Fusaka upgrade for December 3, marking the countdown to the second hard fork of 2025. The primary feature of this upgrade is PeerDAS, which aims to significantly reduce bandwidth requirements and costs for both validators and layer-2 networks. This improvement is expected to enhance the speed and affordability of transactions on the Ethereum network. The decision was made during the All Core Developers Consensus Layer (ACDC) call, just two days after successful deployment on the Hoodi testnet, ensuring that the upgrade is stable. The activation on the Ethereum mainnet is projected to occur at slot 13,164,544, expected around 21:49 UTC on December 3. Ethereum Foundation researcher Alex Stokes expressed gratitude for the efforts that led to this milestone, emphasizing the significance of the upgrade for the Ethereum ecosystem.
