Ethereum Developers Set Final Date for Fusaka Upgrade
Ethereum developers have scheduled the Fusaka upgrade for December 3, 2025, after a successful final testnet. This upgrade introduces PeerDAS, an innovative data-sampling method that aims to significantly enhance layer-2 transaction efficiency by increasing the blob space in each transaction block. Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum's co-founder, emphasizes the importance of PeerDAS for scaling the network and enabling lower-cost transactions. The Fusaka update builds on prior advancements from last year’s Dencun upgrade, which introduced blobs for temporary storage of layer-2 data, significantly reducing gas fees and processing times. After successful tests on various testnets, the upgrade is poised to advance Ethereum’s goal of widespread, low-cost global adoption. While Ethereum's price is currently down, market predictions indicate a more optimistic outlook following the upgrade, with users believing it is more likely for ETH to surpass $4,500 than fall below $3,100.
