Ethereum devs finalize Fusaka testnet rollout

Ethereum developers confirmed the rollout of the Fusaka testnet, which will commence on October 1, 2025. This upgrade will introduce a default gas limit increase to 60 million and aims to enhance validator efficiency and storage capabilities through the implementation of PeerDAS technology. The testnet will be activated on Holesky, followed by Sepolia and Khudai in subsequent weeks. This upgrade also coincides with a significant rise in blob utilization on the Ethereum network, with an average of almost six blobs per block recorded recently. Following Fusaka, attention will turn to the upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade, featuring proposals such as Execution-layer Proposer-Builder Separation (ePBS) and Block Access Lists (BALs), with a tentative devnet scheduled for October 2025. With 23 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) proposed for Glamsterdam, coordination among developers is critical, prompting the introduction of the EIP Champion Role to streamline communication for each EIP.
