Ethereum Exit Queue Hits $10B Record: Selling Pressure Concerns?

Ethereum’s validator exit queue has surged to over $10 billion, with more than 2.4 million Ether awaiting withdrawal. This record spike extends the queue time to over 41 days. While validators play a crucial role in adding new blocks and verifying transactions on the network, the massive amount of pending withdrawals has raised concerns about potential selling pressure for Ether holders. Approximately five times as much Ether is waiting to exit compared to the entry queue, which holds over 490,000 Ether. Despite short-term concerns, the Ethereum network remains stable, with over one million active validators staking 35.6 million Ether. Institutional inflows are increasing, with firms like Grayscale depositing significant amounts into the staking queue. Analysts indicate that institutional adoption is transforming Ether into a yield-bearing, recognized asset, further bolstered by ETF inflows that have surpassed $620 million this October.
