European Bank Revolut Taps Ethereum Network Polygon for Remittances, Stablecoin Payments

Revolut has partnered with the Ethereum scaling network Polygon to enhance its crypto remittance and stablecoin payment capabilities. Since integrated in December 2024, Polygon has facilitated over $690 million in trading volume through Revolut. This collaboration allows Revolut's customers in the UK and European Economic Area (EEA) to send remittances in stablecoins such as USDC and USDT, and to trade POL, Polygon's native token, via the Revolut app. Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, highlighted this integration as an embodiment of real-world blockchain utility, emphasizing the seamless experience it offers by integrating blockchain payments into everyday financial transactions. The partnership also positions Polygon to meet regulatory standards necessary for the evolving fintech landscape, demonstrating how such infrastructures can comply with existing frameworks. Revolut, having over 65 million users, is further expanding its reach in the cryptocurrency market, especially after obtaining a MiCA license in Cyprus lately, allowing greater access to crypto services in Europe.
