European Bank Revolut Taps Ethereum Network Polygon for Remittances, Stablecoin Payments
Revolut, a major European fintech firm, is partnering with the Ethereum scaling network Polygon to facilitate crypto remittances and stablecoin payments. This collaboration follows Polygon's successful integration with Revolut, which has already processed approximately $700 million in trading volumes since its launch last December. The integration allows Revolut users in the UK and European Economic Area (EEA) to make remittances using stablecoins such as USDC and USDT, along with Polygon's native token, POL. Aishwary Gupta of Polygon emphasized the importance of regulatory compliance in demonstrating the potential of blockchain payments to lawmakers. With over 65 million users across 160 regions, Revolut continues to expand its crypto offerings, recently securing a MiCA license in Cyprus and planning to announce a new token by year's end. The partnership with Polygon is a significant step towards integrating blockchain technology into everyday financial experiences.
