Exclusive: Genie founder raises $5M for social trading app Share

Share, a new social trading app, has raised $5 million in a funding round led by Coinbase Ventures and other investors. Founded by Scott Gray, who previously created the NFT aggregator Genie, Share focuses on indexing cryptocurrency transactions across multiple blockchains including Solana, Base, and Ethereum. The app allows users to view a real-time feed of on-chain activity, trade tokens, and examine charts, as well as maintain profiles whether or not they have joined the app. Gray describes Share as treating on-chain transactions as a new form of media. As crypto trading becomes more social, Share aims to aggregate data that enhances trading strategies. Competing against existing social trading platforms like Fomo and facing challenges from major exchanges like Robinhood and Coinbase, Share must consolidate cross-chain data effectively to attract users. The concept of social trading in crypto is gaining traction, and Share's unique approach could position it as a key player in the evolving market.
