Gemini Prepares to Offer Prediction Market Contracts
Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini is planning to enter the prediction market sector, as reported on November 5, 2025. Founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, Gemini aims to launch products in this area, following the popularity of prediction markets, especially during the 2024 U.S. election campaign where platforms like Polymarket saw over $8 billion in bets. As prediction market contracts are classified as derivatives, Gemini's application to offer these will be subject to approval by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), a process that could take several months. Gemini recently became publicly traded on the Nasdaq and is looking to tap into an industry that has gained prominence. Other companies in various sectors have also shown interest in entering the prediction markets following their emergence as a popular betting platform.
