Harvard Triples Its Bitcoin Position as Emory Expands BTC ETF Holdings

Harvard University has significantly increased its Bitcoin exposure by tripling its position in BlackRock's market-leading crypto ETF. As of September 30, the Harvard Management Company held 6.8 million shares of iShares Bitcoin Trust, valued at approximately $443 million, up from 1.9 million shares reported in June. This move underscores a shift in the university's investment strategy regarding Bitcoin. Alongside Harvard, Emory University also raised its Bitcoin ETF holdings, reporting 1 million shares of Bitcoin Mini Trust valued at $52 million, which is an increase from the previous quarter. Despite recent spot Bitcoin ETF outflows, both institutions' disclosures illustrate a long-term investment perspective, backed by the popularity of BlackRock's ETF.
