HIVE Digital's Mining Capacity Hits 23 EH/s as Bitcoin Output Funds AI Shift

HIVE Digital Technologies has achieved a notable milestone of 23 exahashes per second (EH/s) in Bitcoin mining capacity, marking a 283% increase this year. The company plans to further enhance its capacity to 25 EH/s by the end of the month. This growth is fueled by the full deployment of hardware at its hydroelectric campus in Paraguay, powered by the Itaipú Dam. In addition to Bitcoin mining, HIVE is transitioning parts of its operations into AI-ready data centers, including a new site in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, which can accommodate 25,000 GPUs. By 2026, HIVE anticipates having a total of 36,000 GPUs across its facilities. The move to AI infrastructure is strategic, leveraging renewable energy resources to achieve a competitive edge in the expanding AI market. As part of this transition, HIVE currently holds approximately 2,201 BTC, making it significant in the digital asset space.
