Injective Launches Pre-IPO Derivatives, Distancing from Robinhood Offering

Injective Protocol has introduced onchain pre-IPO perpetual markets, allowing global investors to trade synthetic versions of private companies like OpenAI. This offering enables users to take leveraged positions of up to five times on these valuations through a decentralized platform, setting it apart from centralized options provided by platforms like Robinhood. The pre-IPO perpetuals utilize onchain data from Seda Protocol and Caplight to provide accurate pricing. The first market will feature OpenAI, with additional companies expected to be added in October. Injective aims to facilitate decentralized and permissionless access to private market exposure while emphasizing that its derivatives do not equate to holding equity, a point of distinction from Robinhood's products. This launch reflects Injective's mission to expand decentralized finance (DeFi) into traditional markets, with the RWA market's value reaching almost $32 billion this year. However, users in the U.S., U.K., and Canada remain excluded due to regulatory restrictions.
