Leading Base DEX Aerodrome Merges Into Aero in Major Overhaul
Dromos Labs announced a significant upgrade to its decentralized exchange infrastructure with the launch of Aero, a new unified trading system set to replace existing platforms across different networks. Aerodrome, the leading exchange on Base by volume and fees, will transition to Aero, which aims to enhance liquidity and trading capabilities, especially with its planned expansion to the Ethereum mainnet in mid-2026. The CEO, Alexander Cutler, emphasized Aero's role in creating a more efficient financial system compared to traditional models. In addition to Aero, Dromos Labs introduced METADEX03, an upgraded version of its MetaDEX operating system featuring a dual-engine architecture designed to enhance revenue retention for users. A notable innovation, Slipstream V3, integrates a Maximally Extractable Value (MEV) auction into the Automated Market Maker (AMM) framework, allowing the protocol to capture value typically lost to arbitrage bots. This overhaul is expected to enhance the efficiency of decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms and increase their appeal to both retail and institutional investors.
