Monad Reveals Mainnet and Token Launch Date Following Airdrop Claim
Monad is set to launch its mainnet layer-1 network on November 24, alongside its MON token. After an airdrop claim, the network, which aims to compete with Ethereum and Solana, expects to process 10,000 transactions per second with minimal fees. The foundation has raised over $240 million to realize its vision. The pre-launch phase led to more than $14 million in trading volume on Hyperliquid in just 24 hours, signaling strong market interest. The MON tokens were distributed to approximately 225,000 verified users, following a robust vetting process to prevent low-value farming attempts. Eligible users include participants in DeFi and prominent NFT holders. The launch follows successful testing phases earlier this year, bringing anticipation for its operational capabilities. Major exchanges, including Kraken, are preparing for the token's debut on launch day, which is indicative of the competitive environment for blockchain networks.
