Monad Reveals Mainnet and Token Launch Date Following Airdrop Claim

Monad Foundation has announced the launch of its mainnet layer-1 network on November 24 alongside the release of its MON token. This initiative aims to compete with established networks like Ethereum and Solana by offering high transaction speeds and low fees. Pre-launch trading for the MON token has already generated over $14 million in volume on a decentralized exchange, indicating strong interest. The mainnet is expected to support 10,000 transactions per second with minimal gas fees and quick finality. The airdrop for nearly 225,000 eligible users, which included DeFi protocol participants and long-term NFT holders, was open until November 3. The token will be available for trading on major exchanges, including Kraken, on the day of the mainnet launch, marking a significant milestone for the project founded in 2022 that has raised over $240 million in funding.
