Morgan Stanley Opens Crypto Access to All Clients

Morgan Stanley is expanding access to cryptocurrency investments for all its wealth management clients, marking a significant shift in traditional finance. Starting October 15, 2025, the bank will allow its financial advisors to offer crypto investments across all account types, including retirement plans, and to clients regardless of their net worth or risk tolerance. Previously, only high-net-worth clients with a minimum of $1.5 million in assets could invest in cryptocurrencies. This move reflects the growing acceptance of cryptocurrencies as a mainstream asset class amidst increasing pressure on financial institutions to adapt to the rising popularity of digital assets. The decision also underscores that even mainstream investment firms like BlackRock and Vanguard are reassessing their positions on crypto, with Vanguard considering offering access to spot crypto ETFs, which marks a substantial change in stance over the past year.
