The Instant model features adaptive reasoning, allowing it to evaluate the complexity of questions for deeper processing, leading to improvements in tasks like math and coding. The Thinking model adapts its processing time based on task complexity, which accelerates responses to simple queries while maintaining thoroughness for complex issues. Both models now allow users to customize the personality and conversational tone of ChatGPT. Rollout begins for paid subscribers, with an API integration planned for later this week, followed by general availability for free users.
