Palantir Sues Ex-Engineers Over Plans to Launch 'Copycat' AI Startup
Palantir Technologies has filed a federal lawsuit against two former senior engineers, Radha Jain and Joanna Cohen, accusing them of stealing confidential documents to start a competing AI integration company, Percepta. The lawsuit claims that the engineers downloaded sensitive files, including internal healthcare diagrams and demonstration frameworks, shortly after resigning from Palantir. The lawsuit further alleges that they concealed their new roles and continued to access Palantir's confidential information, violating contractual obligations they had with the company. Percepta, which emerged from stealth mode recently and includes several former Palantir employees, reportedly operates under a business model that mirrors Palantir's. The lawsuit seeks to block the defendants from continuing their operations, seeking damages for the alleged theft and an extension of their non-compete agreements. Palantir's claims highlight the potential competitive risks posed by the theft of proprietary information and its impact on the company's market position and business investments.
