Palantir Sues Ex-Engineers Over Plans to Launch 'Copycat' AI Startup

Palantir Technologies has initiated a lawsuit against two former senior AI engineers for allegedly stealing confidential documents to establish a competing startup, Percepta, backed by General Catalyst. The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court, claims that Radha Jain and Joanna Cohen took sensitive information, including trade secrets and internal frameworks, shortly after resigning from Palantir. Jain, who played a role in developing Palantir’s AIP Logic, resigned in November 2024, while Cohen, a Healthcare Lead, left in February 2025. The complaint states they concealed their new employment and engaged in deceptive practices, with Cohen reportedly transferring confidential files to her personal device. Percepta's structure and business model reportedly mirror Palantir's, indicating potential use of the stolen information to undermine Palantir's market position. The legal action seeks an injunction against the engineers, claiming significant financial losses due to their actions, as well as reimbursement for legal fees and an extension of their non-compete agreements. This case underscores escalating tensions regarding employee turnover and intellectual property protection in the competitive AI landscape.
