Palantir Sues Ex-Engineers Over Plans to Launch 'Copycat' AI Startup

Palantir Technologies has filed a federal lawsuit against two former senior engineers, Radha Jain and Joanna Cohen, claiming they misappropriated trade secrets to establish a competing AI integration company, Percepta. The lawsuit alleges that days after their resignations, the engineers downloaded sensitive documents, including proprietary customer engagement strategies and internal frameworks. Cohen, in particular, is accused of sending confidential files to herself via Slack just after giving notice and accessing these documents on her personal device. The complaint emphasizes how these actions amount to a breach of their contractual obligations, including non-competition and confidentiality agreements. It highlights that Percepta's launch mirrors Palantir's business strategy and involves many former Palantir employees. Palantir seeks to prevent these ex-employees from leveraging the stolen information to gain a competitive edge, claiming their actions could irreparably harm the company's market position and bypass years of research and investment.
