Privacy-Focused Aztec Network's Ignition Chain Lights Up on Ethereum
Aztec Network has launched its Ignition Chain, marking it as the first fully decentralized Layer 2 protocol on Ethereum's mainnet. This protocol utilizes zero-knowledge proofs to enable private and scalable blockchain transactions, which aims to enhance decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. The launch was signified when the validator queue reached 500, indicating a strong base for network security and block production. Designed to function as a 'private world computer,' the Ignition Chain allows developers to build DeFi applications while keeping user data confidential. Users can become validators or sequencers by staking AZTEC tokens, with an auction scheduled for December 2 to encourage community participation. The deployment of the Ignition Chain highlights the shift from experimental to essential infrastructure for privacy-focused decentralized networks in the blockchain space.
