Steak 'n Shake Bitcoin Burger Comes With Actual BTC as Firm Creates 'Strategic Reserve'

Steak 'n Shake has partnered with Fold to offer customers Bitcoin rewards for purchasing its new Bitcoin steakburger or Bitcoin meal. Customers can earn $5 in BTC by submitting their receipts through the Fold app at nearly 400 locations in the U.S. This initiative is part of a broader effort to integrate Bitcoin into everyday spending. In addition, Steak 'n Shake will establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve, holding payments received in BTC and donate a portion of every Bitcoin meal sale to support open-source contributors in the Bitcoin community. The restaurant chain began accepting Bitcoin payments earlier this year and is now focusing on further engagement with the cryptocurrency community. The collaboration with Fold marks the first of several planned partnerships aimed at demonstrating practical uses of Bitcoin in the retail sector. As part of this promotion, the burgers feature the Bitcoin logo, and the company is also exploring additional payment options in the future.
