Strategy’s Bitcoin treasury valued at $77.4B
Michael Saylor’s firm, Strategy, has reached a record valuation of its Bitcoin treasury, now totaling $77.4 billion, making it larger than several major banks and comparable to the GDP of some nations. Initially starting with a mere $250 million and incurring losses, Strategy now holds 640,031 BTC, representing about 3.2% of the total Bitcoin supply. The substantial increase in value comes as Bitcoin prices rise back to $120,000. Despite a slight decline from its all-time high earlier in August, Strategy has acquired 11,085 BTC in the last few weeks. This impressive treasury could theoretically purchase over 2.5 million cars or nearly 385,000 houses, underscoring its massive size. Additionally, Strategy holds nearly half of all publicly and privately held BTC, with total holdings across companies estimated at 1.32 million BTC, valuing at approximately $159 billion. Comparatively, El Salvador's national Bitcoin treasury, holding 6,338 BTC, is valued at about $762.5 million, reflecting the scale of Strategy's asset base.
