Stripe Unveils Stablecoin Issuance Tool With Phantom's Token
Stripe has launched a stablecoin issuance platform called Open Issuance, which allows firms to create custom stablecoins with minimal coding. The platform is supported by the stablecoin infrastructure provider Bridge. Phantom's CASH token will be the first to be issued via this protocol, along with other tokens such as Hyperliquid's USDH and MetaMask's mUSD. Stripe's president, Will Gaybrick, emphasized that the integration of stablecoins and AI is ushering in a new online economy. Additionally, Stripe introduced AI commerce tools through the Agentic Commerce Protocol in partnership with OpenAI, enabling merchants to engage with AI agents while maintaining control over customer relationships. Stripe's recent acquisitions, including a crypto wallet provider and a collaboration with crypto venture firm Paradigm, showcase its commitment to integrating blockchain technology into its payment solutions, aiming for a seamless experience with lower transaction costs.
