Tether (USDT) Fundraising Interest Reportedly From Softbank, Ark Invest
Tether, the issuer of the world's largest stablecoin USDT, is reportedly seeking to raise up to $20 billion, which would value the company at around $500 billion. This move comes as interest from major firms like Japan's SoftBank and Cathie Wood's Ark Invest emerges. The stablecoin sector has experienced significant growth, with Tether’s USDT holds a market capitalization of $173 billion, primarily backed by U.S. Treasuries, leading to substantial profits. The trend toward stablecoins, cryptocurrencies pegged to fiat money, is accelerating, with projections indicating the total market could reach $4 trillion. Tether also recently announced plans to enter the U.S. market with a new dollar token, USAT, in line with the nation's first federal crypto regulation under the GENIUS Act. This fundraising initiative highlights the increasing investor interest in stablecoins and their potential to reshape global payment systems.
