Trezor Unveils 'Quantum-Ready' Safe 7 Hardware Wallet

Trezor has launched its new hardware wallet, the Trezor Safe 7, designed to be quantum-ready, signaling a proactive stance against emerging digital threats. The wallet features a bootloader capable of supporting post-quantum cryptographic updates amidst rising cyber theft within the crypto sector. In the first half of 2025, $2.17 billion was reported stolen from cryptocurrency services, highlighting the pressing need for enhanced security measures. Tomáš Susanka, Trezor's CTO, indicated that the device employs a hybrid classical and post-quantum signature scheme to ensure long-term resilience against potential future risks posed by quantum computing. The Trezor Safe 7 also incorporates the open-source TROPIC01 chip, aimed at increasing transparency regarding private key protection. Furthermore, Susanka emphasized the importance of users cultivating good security habits and using hardware wallets to safeguard their assets from both digital threats and physical attacks, which have become increasingly prevalent. This launch underscores Trezor's commitment to innovation in cryptocurrency security, catering to evolving threats.
