US Bitcoin reserve funding can start anytime — Senator Lummis

Crypto-friendly US Senator Cynthia Lummis announced that fundraising for the US Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR) is ready to begin, although legislative hurdles are causing delays. Lummis referred to a prior discussion by ProCap BTC's Jeff Park regarding leveraging the US government's $1 trillion in paper gains from gold to invest in Bitcoin, highlighting the potential to cover the fiscal deficit. The SBR could be capitalized with Bitcoin seized by the Treasury and potentially bought through budget-neutral methods to avoid burdening taxpayers. Despite an Executive Order being signed by President Trump seven months ago, the specific timeline for SBR launch remains uncertain, though experts predict government purchases of Bitcoin may be forthcoming soon.

According to Cosmo Jiang, a general partner at Pantera Capital, it is not too late for investors to get into cryptocurrency, despite Bitcoin recently reaching an all-time high of over $126,000. Jiang highlighted that a significant portion of investors, more than 60%, still possess no exposure to digital assets,
