Why Ethereum Game 'The Sandbox' Is Launching Its Own Chain

The Sandbox, an Ethereum gaming metaverse, plans to launch its own layer-2 network called SANDChain aimed at empowering the creator economy. This blockchain, developed with the ZK Stack, will allow creators to control their content, monetize their identities, and foster community management, while utilizing the SAND token as its native utility and gas token. Early access signups for SANDChain begin October 1, 2025, with the testnet launching shortly thereafter.
